The MKA is deeply saddened by the recent dog attack on a resident in Subang Jaya. This tragic event has alerted various authorities to seek more stringent measures to protect the safety and welfare of the community and upholding responsible dog ownership.
The MKA President and Central Committee have been corresponding with government authorities and departments and the general press. And has offered support and help to initiate measures that would not only reduce the incidence of unwarranted attacks but also protect the rights of the residents in the community.
- The MKA met with Dr Roslan b. Mohamed Hussin, Health Department Director of the Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya on 8 June. Larry Yuen made a presentation on ‘Managing Canine Aggression in the Community’ discouraging Breed Specific Legislation but encouraging responsible dog ownership and promotion of dog socialization and training programs.
- State Assemblywoman for Subang Jaya YB Hannah Yeoh together with Larry Yuen made a press conference on 11 June. YB Hannah Yeoh supports responsible dog ownership and promotion of dog socialization and training programs.
