Exhibitors at the recent Setia Alam & Midvalley shows would have noticed that there was a box placed at the entrance/exit of the show rings, encouraging members who did not want their show ribbons or rosettes, to put them in the box so that they could be recycled.

Rosettes and Ribbons all cost money and to see them thrown on the floor at the benching or collecting area is very wasteful. What more it is disrespectful to the MKA and the judges to discard these awards in such a manner.

We want to strongly encourage those of you who do not want your Rosettes and Ribbons to place them in the box as you leave the ring, or to put them back on the Ribbon table. We thank those of you who have already been doing so and hope the others will follow suit.

The MKA is deeply saddened by the recent dog attack on a resident in Subang Jaya.  This tragic event has alerted various authorities to seek more stringent measures to protect the safety and welfare of the community and upholding responsible dog ownership.

The MKA President and Central Committee have been corresponding with government authorities and departments and the general press.  And has offered support and help to initiate measures that would not only reduce the incidence of unwarranted attacks but also protect the rights of the residents in the community.

• The MKA met with Dr Roslan b. Mohamed Hussin, Health Department Director of the Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya on 8 June.  Larry Yuen made a presentation on ‘Managing Canine Aggression in the Community’ discouraging Breed Specific Legislation but encouraging responsible dog ownership and promotion of dog socialization and training programs.
• State Assemblywoman for Subang Jaya YB Hannah Yeoh together with Larry Yuen made a press conference on 11 June.  YB Hannah Yeoh supports responsible dog ownership and promotion of dog socialization and training programs.  The MKA will assist in a seminar on responsible dog ownership in July to be held in Subang Jaya.  Please click here to view press reports.

You can ONLY enter the Midvalley Megamall with your dogs from the LOADING DOCK. Please see the map below for how to get to the Loading Dock. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED IN THE MALL. ONLY EXHIBITION AREAS & LOADING DOCK! LOADING DOCK is open from 8am to 10am. So please do not come any earlier or any later. Your exhibitor passes will be handed out to you at the Loading Dock.

You can ONLY enter the LOADING DOCK from the Federal Highway Entrance (heading to KL from PJ) to Midvalley. There is NO OTHER way to access the LOADING DOCK of Midvalley. Once you enter the Loading Dock please look for DOCK "L" for the dog show entrance.

As you come towards the Mall on your EXTREME RIGHT HAND SIDE you will see a SIGN that says LORI & LOADING DOCK. Follow the signs for LORI & LOADING DOCK. Do not follow signs for Zone A car park.

After unloading your dogs and equipment, you will then have to go and park your cars in any of the Midvalley Car parks (preferably Zone G & H).

At the end of the show when you want to pick up your dogs from the LOADING DOCK, you will once again have to go back onto the Federal Highway towards PJ, do a U TURN at the Bangsar South/Pantai Exit and come back towards Midvalley and head to the LOADING DOCK again.

Even if you are not entered for the Sweepstakes Classes registration of dogs closes at 10am so you MUST BE AT THE SHOW VENUE before 10am.

Order of Judging will be Sweepstakes, MP, G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G6 & G7. Judging commences at 9.30am with Sweepstakes.
